    Hi @Ray1956,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'd be happy to clarify this for you.

I can confirm that your 24-month phone contract is due to end on 14/11/2026.

If you'd like to move to a SIM-only plan while keeping your existing iD Mobile number, you'll need to arrange this as an upgrade on your current account rather than taking out a separate new contract.

As you've found a SIM-only deal through uSwitch, we'd recommend contacting our Sales Team, who can review your account, check your eligibility and confirm whether the uSwitch offer or a suitable SIM-only option is available to you.

You can contact our Sales Team via Live Chat or by calling 0800 049 0250. They'll be able to assist you with the upgrade and advise you on the next steps.

We hope this clarifies the process, and we appreciate your patience.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to Live Chat yesterday and was told that the ID Mobile system does not permit transfer of existing phone number to a new SIM only via a PAC Code. Change to ID Mobile SIM only can only be done via the upgrade system, so I wouldn’t be able to choose a better deal from uSwitch or another provider….even though it would be an ID Mobile SIM only deal. Seems odd but there you have it.

    Hi @Ray1956,

I'm sorry to hear that, and I can understand why it seems frustrating.

Unfortunately, what you've been told is correct. iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers between iD Mobile accounts. This means that if you want to move to another iD Mobile SIM-only plan and keep your existing iD Mobile number, it needs to be done through the appropriate upgrade route rather than by using a PAC on a new iD Mobile deal.

I appreciate that this can feel limiting, especially when you've found a better-priced iD Mobile deal through a comparison site such as uSwitch. Unfortunately, purchasing a new iD Mobile plan through a third party would create a new iD Mobile account and number, and we wouldn't be able to transfer your existing iD Mobile number onto it.

I'm sorry this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, but thank you for coming back and sharing the information from Live Chat. If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know.

    Regards,
