Can I switch my account to my Daughter

I opened up this account so my daughter could have a mobile phone, she is now 21 and I was wondering if I could switch the account to her name.

Thanks for getting in touch, and I understand why you’d like to move the account across now that your daughter is an adult.

At the moment, iD Mobile accounts can’t be directly transferred into another person’s name. The account holder would need to change through a cancellation and new setup process.

What you can do instead:
Your daughter can set up a new iD Mobile account in her own name
She can chnage the Direct debit of the current SIM she is using to her details and use it under your name

Or you can move it to another provider and make the account her name with them.

Yes thank you the answer was very clear. OK i’ll go ahead and cancel the account for her phone number which is under my name and she can then set up the same contract under her name and therefore remain with iD mobile

I'm glad the answer helped.

However, I do want to clarify that if your daughter cancels the account and takes out the same contract in her own name, she won't be able to keep the same number, as iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers between iD Mobile accounts.

It's also worth noting that the account holder's name can't simply be changed. The credit check and agreement were completed in your name, so the account must remain in your name and can't be transferred to your daughter.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we wanted to make sure you were aware of this before taking any action.
