contract coming to an end. New contract

My contract is coming to an end, and I would like to start a new contract with a new phone. I don't believe I should have to upgrade my contract as my current contract should have ended, and pay the extra you seem to pay as an 'upgrade'. Os there a way to do this.

Please let us know if you would like a new handset with a new number or if you would like to keep and use the current mobile number?

Thank you so much for your confirmation, I can confirm that you would then need to do an upgrade on the plan and not purchase as an upgrade allows you to keep the same mobile number and obtain a new handset.
