I have activated my eSIM and changed my monthly plan. Now my data is not working… I am wondering why this is, I only want to use my eSIM for travel and my regular SIM for everyday use

Hi there @Callum Barham

Unfortunately, you will have to choose which one stays active. Since you have already activated the e-sim, that one should stay. As both won’t be able to work at the same time.

You will have to remove the normal physical idmobile sim card in order for the e-sim to work.

Thank you.

Hi @Zubeida H

Thanks for the quick reply, is there a way to switch back to my regular SIM in the meantime? I don't want to start using the eSIM now as I don't want to needlessly run out of data. For instance, what happens when I no longer need the eSIM?

Hi @Callum Barham

I am afraid we are unable to reactivate a deactivated SIM, sorry.

If you wish you switch back to a physical SIM you would need to order a replacement or pick one up from a Currys store.

Thanks,

Natalie

Hi again,

Just to clarify then, does my eSIM have my current mobile plan on it? If I travel abroad can i still use my mobile data? What should I do If the country I’m going to is not listed on the roaming destinations?

Thanks

Hi @Callum Barham

Yes, your eSIM will have your mobile plan linked.

Whilst roaming, you can use your roaming data. If roaming in a destination that is not included with your tariff, you will be charged for an usage.

To avoid this, you can switch off your mobile data or use airplane mode.

Thanks,
