early upgrade and blue light

Hi - my current contract ends at the beginning of May. I have a blue light card and have seen a deal that I would be keen to switch to, but would I need to wait until my contract has ended (as currently eligible for early upgrade).

I’m really sorry for the confusion,  I can appreciate wanting to take advantage of a good Blue Light deal, especially when your contract is nearly at its end.

I’ve checked the upgrade process for iD Mobile, and you don’t need to wait until your contract fully ends to upgrade. As you’re within your final months, you are likely already eligible for an early upgrade, which normally becomes available up to around 60 days before your contract end date .

That means you should be able to upgrade now and move onto the new deal if it’s showing as available for your account.
 

A couple of important points:
• If you upgrade early, your new contract will start straight away
• You don’t need to wait for the end date if the system is offering you the upgrade option
• The best way to confirm is by logging into your iD Mobile account/app and checking the “Upgrades” section, as it will only show eligible deals
 

If the Blue Light offer is appearing there, you should be able to proceed with it. If it isn’t showing in your upgrade options, it may mean it’s only available as a new connection rather than an upgrade.
