end of contract special upgrade option more expensive

I’ve just been given my upgrade deals today and they are more expensive than what I can get from ID mobile on the Martin Lewis page.
I think I will move on from ID mobile as I hate this sort of thing and with no contact numbers you can’t even discuss.

Contract ends in July and unless I can get a better deal than whats available on the Martin Lewis site ( which I should for loyalty) then I’ll be leaving

You have zero chance of getting the deal that is available on the Martin Lewis website as an upgrade, let alone a better one.

@mkok Try calling the sales team on 02071391397 between 9am-6pm Monday-Friday, and they should be able to help further.

Well that was a laugh. I phoned the that number and they can’t match the offer. I also called the complaints line and raised a complaint. So basically a new customer gets a better offer than an existing one. To make it even worse if I let my contract expire (which it does in a month) I can’t take that offer (which actually goes to ID mobile and not a 3rd party ) as they won’t port it over.

Absolutely disgusting and no way to treat an existing customer. Looks like I’ll be moving on from ID mobile.

No they couldn’t. In fact the whole thing was worse. See my new reply in this thread.

    Hi @mkok

    We’re sorry to hear this.

New customer deals and current customer deals are consistently changing, therefore, it can depend on the time that you decide to change deals/upgrade.

Sometimes, a current customer deal will be better than a new customer deal, and vice-versa.

Jolly good. Got my Lebara sim and PAT code. Switches over next week when my contract ends. Massively cheaper too.

So, there is nothing to stop me from going to a 1 month SIM only rolling contract with Smarty for example who use the same network and then after a month, I can take out a new contract as a new customer and get the better deal?
