Any help…
I purchased a 120gb sim-only contract for a good monthly cost, only issue is I’ve found the 120gb data not enough - my device uses way more.
So, rather than worrying about remaining data allowance & be without internet in the interim change/rectification, I do the sensible thing and purchase another 12 month contract but for unlimited data. When the physical sim arrives…I swap that in my device and cancel the original 120gb sim contract (which is still within the 30-day cancellation period).
Unfortunately…iDmobile throws a spanner into the works so what should be easy isn’t - I “fail” a credit check…despite 1)being an iDmobile customer already, 2) having no credit issues, 3)being in the highest rate tax bracket…they subsequently cancel the unlimited data sim…I’m told I cannot buy another contract??!
Over an hour on the phone speaking to UK carphonewarehouse (guy can’t help), iDmobile customer complaints (who transfers me over to customer service & cancellations without saying so or registering my complaint), customer help/cancellations (who says I need to cancel my contract first and wait 30 days/2 months then ring up iDmobile to manually buy the 12-month unlimited contract…what??!) and then customer complaints (who I had to explain all this to them 3 times despite the previous agent saying I wouldn’t have to…only to be told you can’t register a complaint about this then after highlighting the problem to them again they finally registering it) all without a solution…
So…anyone any ideas? First time I’ve used iDmobile and so far they haven’t a coherent solution (or any solution to be honest) and their customer service so far is utter ****. The sim works great, unfortunately I’ve underestimated my data usage so you’d think buying more/spending more from a company would be welcomed (that is how capitalism works after all).
Best I can figure out is buy a PAYG unlimited sim from iDmobile, when received swap sims, cancel original and wait until reapplying for new contract…but for how long??
Chances are any outside (3rd party) deal will have ended by then so a new contract from another provider/whoever is cheapest might have to suffice.
This seems crazy hoop jumping for something that should be an easy fix. If my first contract hard credit check was good enough they shouldn’t see a problem.
