Question

Keep number after moving from pay monthly to contract

I've been an iD Mobile customer on a SIM-only contract and have just taken out a new iD Mobile Pay Monthly contract with an eSIM via Carphone Warehouse, so two plans are showing on my account.

I want to keep my existing mobile number and move it onto the new contract - how do I do that?

    Hi @ayla232,

    Thanks for your post.

Unfortunately, iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers between iD Mobile accounts.

As you've taken out a new iD Mobile Pay Monthly contract via Carphone Warehouse, it will have been set up as a new plan with a new mobile number.

This means we won't be able to move your existing iD Mobile number from your SIM-only contract onto the new iD Mobile contract.

    Your options are:

    • Keep your existing SIM-only plan and number as they are.
    • Use the new contract with the new number provided.
    • Upgrade your existing iD Mobile plan instead of taking out a new iD Mobile contract.
    • Transfer your number to or from a different network if you wish to retain it on a different plan.

s you've already taken out the new contract, we'd recommend contacting the point of sale to discuss any return options that may be available. You can then contact our Sales Team via Live Chat to see what upgrade options are available on your existing plan: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

I'm sorry this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I hope it helps clarify the situation.

    Regards,
