I have a monthly pay contract with id mobile that is up for renewal. I found online a mobile tariff that is better that the renewal offers in the id mobile app. Can I take out a new id mobile contract via the other supplier and still keep my number? I can’t use a PAC code as I would be with the same network.

I don’t think you can do that. What I would advise is go to a monthly rolling SIM only contract with a provider who advocates “less malarkey” as they use the same Three network as ID mobile using your PAC code from ID Mobile, then after a month sign up to the contract you want with ID Mobile by using your PAC code from your rolling supplier. Hey Presto! you got the contract you want at the price you want as a “new” customer.
