Question

New phone contract eligible?

I want to join a new contract on ID mobile but it is not featured in the upgrades only through another website. I have requested a PAC to get the deal but obviously it's the same network so it's stopping me from getting the new deal. Why, as a committed customer can I not get the same deal?

    Hi @Mapart,

    Thanks for your post.

I can understand why this would be frustrating, especially if you've found a better iD Mobile deal elsewhere and would like to keep your existing number.

Unfortunately, iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers. This means that if you take out a new iD Mobile plan, whether directly or through a third-party retailer, it will be created as a new account with a new mobile number.

As a result, if you proceed with the new deal, you'll either:

    • Have a new iD Mobile number on the new plan, or
    • End up with two iD Mobile plans if your existing one remains active.

The only ways to keep your current number are:

    • Upgrade your existing iD Mobile plan, or
    • Transfer your number to or from another network.

In terms of pricing, deals offered to new customers are often basic plans as there's no account history with us. Upgrade offers for existing customers can differ as they're based on your existing account and history with iD Mobile.

We'd recommend contacting our Sales Team via Live Chat to see what options are available: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

They may be able to discuss alternative options and help you find the best available deal while keeping your existing number.

    Regards,
