I am able to receive text messages with pictures. I have a £0 cap on my SIM only contract Pictures in text messaging would not work previously. Is it a new feature of Google text messaging ?

Sounds like you’re using the Google Messages app with the RCS chats option turned ON, @Stardust.If so, you can send and receive messages with pictures using your mobile data allowance or when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

MMS messaging has always been a thing. You’re not charged when receiving an MMS message, only when sending them.
