SIM contract ending - what if I do nothing?

So in 10 days my SIM only contract expires.

It seems I can take out another contract (at higher cost) or if I do nothing my contract just “continues with no change”.

This information appears to be incomplete, or at least doesn’t answer obvious questions.

It’s rather akin to the questions I see of people asking what happens after 2 years of paying £50pm for their iphone - and the answer being that they still pay for their iphone even though the cost of the iphone has be covered in those two years. That’s just like the stunt O2 pulled on me in the 90’s when we were all very naive about this stuff.

Does the unchanged contract continue till the end of time such that I’m paying the same price for the same minutes, gigabytes, etc? Or will the price rise with the general increases in a new contract?

Hi @martin_t,

Once your minimum term ends, your SIM-only plan doesn't automatically renew into a new fixed-term contract. Instead, it simply continues on a 30-day rolling basis with the same allowances and monthly price, unless you choose to change it, so essentially, it remains the same.

This means you're free to:

  • Keep your current plan on a rolling monthly basis.
  • Upgrade to a new SIM-only plan if you'd like different allowances or pricing.
  • Leave iD Mobile at any time by giving 30 days' notice.

Any annual price changes that apply under your terms and conditions would still apply while you're on the rolling plan, but you won't be tied into another fixed-term contract unless you actively choose one.

We hope that helps clear things up!
