Hi @Loopyloo7,

I am so sorry to let you know that our SIMs are not compatible with smart watches. You are able to get a GPS watch which allows you to connect to your handset, however our SIM cards will not work in the smart watch.

Once again, I am so sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused, however if there is anything else that we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get back in touch.

Regards,

Hi @Wreckingpaul,

The Google Pixel Watch doesn’t use a physical SIM card, but how it works depends on which version you’ve got.

All Pixel Watches come with built-in GPS, so you can still track runs or walks without having your phone on you, that part works either way.

When it comes to staying connected, there are two versions:

  • Bluetooth/Wi-Fi (GPS):
  • This one needs your phone nearby (connected via Bluetooth) for calls, texts, and data. If you’re on Wi-Fi, you’ll still get some basic connectivity, but it’s not fully independent.
  • 4G LTE (Cellular):

This version has an eSIM built in, so it can make calls, send texts, and use data on its own, no phone needed at the time. You would just need a compatible plan set up for it, usually linked to your main number.

If you’re not sure which version of the Pixel Watch you’ve got, here are a few easy ways to check:

On the watch itself:

  • Swipe down and go to Settings
  • Tap Connectivity
  • If you see an option for Mobile or Mobile Network, then it’s the LTE (cellular) version
  • If that option isn’t there, it’s the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version

Using the Pixel Watch app on your phone:

  • Open the Google Pixel Watch app
  • Go to Network or Connectivity settings
  • If there’s an option to set up mobile data or an eSIM, then it’s the LTE version

I got a lte first gen and I can no longer use it as id don't support , it won't connect at all without the support , if a provider is selling a Google pixel phone it should support the extras on my eyes.

I will be checking my contract to see if it states this , if not I will be contacting trading standards to end my contract.

Hi @Wreckingpaul

Thank you for your message, and I’m sorry for the frustration this has caused.

Just to clarify, our service is designed and supported for use in standard mobile handsets. While SIM cards may physically work in other devices such as smartwatches or tablets, we cannot guarantee full functionality, compatibility, or support when the SIM is used outside of a supported handset.

This is outlined in our terms, as full service features (including connectivity, provisioning, and network support) are only assured when the SIM is used in a compatible mobile phone.

For LTE smartwatches in particular, they often require specific network provisioning and dedicated eSIM support, which may not be available depending on the device and service setup.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we’re happy to help check what options are available for your account if you’d like to continue using the service in a supported device.

Hi @Wreckingpaul

Thank you for your response.

In this case, the options available to you are:

  • Use the SIM in a supported mobile handset This is the recommended option, as full service (calls, texts, and data) is only guaranteed in compatible handset
  • Upgrade your plan or device – You can move to a supported handset through an upgrade if eligible to upgrade.
  • Cancel the contract (if applicable) – If you are out of the returns window or out of contract term

Hi @Wreckingpaul.

I’m sorry to hear you feel that way. I understand this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for.

The options provided are based on how the service is designed and supported, to ensure reliable network performance and full functionality, because features like connectivity and provisioning are only guaranteed on compatible mobile handsets, we have to advise accordingly.
