surprise upgrade

Hi I’m looking to upgrade my sons phone for Xmas, hes due an upgrade but if I was to upgrade before Xmas - how would that work out keeping it a surprise? If the new contract phone comes will he automatically be switched over when it arrives or can I ask for it to wait until Xmas eve?

That sounds like a lovely Christmas surprise.

If you upgrade your son’s existing iD Mobile plan, the new contract will take effect when the upgrade is processed, so unfortunately, we wouldn’t be able to schedule the upgrade itself to start on Christmas Eve.

However, you can still keep the handset hidden away until Christmas. To help keep the surprise:

Make sure your son doesn’t have access to the iD Mobile account where the upgrade may be visible.
Keep an eye on the email address registered to the account, as order and dispatch updates will be sent there.
Once the handset arrives, you can simply keep it safely stored away until you’re ready to give it to him.

His existing number will remain the same as long as the order is completed correctly as an upgrade through his existing iD Mobile plan.
