upgrade basic phone

Hello i been with id mobile for 6 months and I received a notification I can upgrade to a phone or sim deals, I tried to upgrade from carphone warehouse but they offered me a cheap phone 19.99£ a month which I don't like I want to upgrade to a iPhone 17 pro max my friend had the same issue when he tried to upgrade he was eligible to iPhone 12 when he contacted carphone warehouse to upgrade he spoke to a sales person and he offered him the 16 pro max as a upgrade I don't know why I can not do the same someone help me please I don't know what to do

    I tried 3 times today and they offered me a cheap phone which I don't want, I want the 17 pro max
