Upgraded my phone on Thursday mornig paid the upgrade fee for the new phone (£99) got the confirmation email saying all good. Recieved email saying phone will be delivered following day, so far so good. Then get another email saying my bill was ready and it had shot up to £138 & some pence, mind blown I called this number 03305202447 spoke to a lady who then put me through to a guy called Harry who said there was an error on there side but wouldn’t say what but he would credit the account with the over-charge which appeared instantly on my account, confirmed my phone would be with me tommorrow and I’m a happy chappy once again. That is until I get a phone call from this number 07045765183, he said his name was Mohammed from iD upgrades went through security proceedure & all good, he said that my order wouldn’t be arriving now as he had to cancel it due to an error on the system their end, again wasn’t told what the error was, and he has requested that the order be returned to them, he re-ordered my new phone and said it would be with me Tuesday. Now, I’ve already paid the upgrade fee had the contract and email confirming my order when i check my account again I’ve been over-charged yet again, spoke to another lovely lady who when we got to the bottom of things explained that this Mohammed had cancelled the order for no legitimate reason and she raised a formal complaint on my behalf arranged for me to recieve compensation when I finally recieve my new phone on Tuesday ( I have to get in touch with CS again for this) now I’m pretty peeved but at least I’m still getting my phone Tuesday Right? She confirmed that. Ok Happy again sort of. Then today at get an email from idmobiledpdpoc@currys.co.uk telling me the new phone had been returned to the depot by the courier with the following message:

We can confirm that we have recieved your parcel regarding order xxxxxxxxx at our warehous

Kindly be advised, due to data protection, we are unable to disclose any information, only once we have completed security checks.

-customer pin

-name of bank

date of birth

full name and surname

fulladress and postcode

the above is required in order to comply with data protection act of 2018, this is to provide unauthorised access to your account

Would require the above information to assist you accordingly.

so did that havent heard anything back, no big deal weekend and everything then tonight recieved an email for my new iD plan WTH !!! and its telling me I can upgrade but I already have uprade fee taken contract sent to me and confirmed. Now I dont know whats going on? Am I getting my new phone Tuesday ? If not why have’nt they issued me a refund for the upgrade fee I’ve already paid or the one I’m dreading have I been scammed some how.

Any help or advice I’ll be truly grateful for.

Thanks for the reply, so here's an update, everything was aboveboard and proper with the email I received, I had a reply today confirming the return of the phone and someone would be contacting me shortly (which they did). Unfortunately due to the amount of time spent on the phone (nearly 4hrs) and another 3 cancelled orders because of cross communication I upgraded with mobiles.co.uk and best part was same phone I wanted on the same contract I wanted with no upfront cost (saved me £99 🥳) and it arrives tomorrow. So I'm a happy chappy once again.
