upgrade cost higher than new contract on same phone

Why is the cost to upgrade to the new handset I want considerably more than if I was to cancel and take out a new contract?

    Upgrade prices can sometimes differ from new customer offers because they're calculated differently.

     

    New customers are offered our base plans, whereas existing customers receive upgrade offers that are based on their history with iD Mobile. This means the plans and pricing you see as an existing customer may not always match the promotional offers available to new customers.

     

    If you'd like to see whether there are any other upgrade options available for your account, we'd recommend contacting our Sales team via Live Chat, as they'll be happy to discuss the offers available to you.
