Baffled by the ID Mobile “offer”

I am now at the end of a 2 year contract and they want me to upgrade.

I’m looking at a Google Pixel 10 Pro 256gb (unlimited data, texts & calls)

Price they are quoting is £29.99 per month with £299 upfront

If I go through Mobiles.co.uk on an ID Mobile plan  I can get the same deal and only have to pay £29 upfront (£100 voucher on a new Pixel)

So basically can I get the new deal from Mobiles.co.uk and just port my existing number or is this just the usual case of being a “loyal” customer just gets you shafted and the deals aren’t as good.

Not sure why staying with the same company should be this complicated🙄

@tmtch27  No one is forcing you to upgrade if a customer is eligible for an upgrade they get notified of this at least 60 day's before their contract end date.

You can call sale's from 8am to 6pm on 0800 049 0250 or +44 20 7139 1397 to discuss  your option and please make sure that it's an upgrade that your require.

Hi @tmtch27 I completely agree with what Joe mentioned – no one is ever forced to upgrade. If you’re eligible, we’ll notify you at least 60 days before your contract ends, so you have plenty of time to decide what works best for you.

I understand I’m not forced to upgrade.

My point is why is it so much cheaper for a new customer to take out a contract than for an existing customer to get the same deal?

So as my current plan has expired now can I resign as a  new customer and keep my existing number.

Hi @tmtch27 ,

We completely understand why this feels frustrating. New customer deals can sometimes look more competitive because they’re designed to attract new sign-ups, but we absolutely value our existing customers and want to make sure you’re happy with your plan.

We’re here to help and will do everything we can to keep you connected on terms you’re happy with.

Appreciate the phone number as made it a lot easier just to contact them and discuss. Didn’t fully match the new deal from Mobiles.co.uk but they did knock £170 off the upfront cost so at least I feel a better about that and went with that.
