I understand why that can be confusing.

If you take out an iD Mobile plan through a third-party retailer, such as Carphone Warehouse, Mobiles.co.uk or another vendor, it will usually be processed as a new iD Mobile connection. This means you'll be issued with a new mobile number and a new plan.

Unfortunately, iD Mobile doesn't support internal number transfers between iD Mobile accounts. So if you take out a new iD Mobile contract elsewhere, we won't be able to move your existing iD Mobile number onto that new plan.

The result is often that customers end up with either:

• A new number on the new plan, or
• Two active iD Mobile plans if the existing one isn't cancelled.

If keeping your current number is important, the best option is to upgrade your existing iD Mobile plan directly through iD Mobile.
