Why are the upgrade deals worse than new deals. Customer retention?

17 pro £44.99 pcm, upfront cost £99 - new customer deal

17 pro £44.99 pcm upfront cost £250 - existing customer

What is the justifiable reason for this?

What is the justifiable reason for this?

You walk into a corner shop looking to buy a Mars bar and the shopkeeper says, Hey, you have this, your first Mars bar is on me. You eat that Mars bar only to then pick up a second Mars bar. The shopkeeper says that’s £1, but before you can reply, a new customer walks in and the shopkeeper says (to the new customer), “Hey, you have this. Your first Mars bar is on me.”

Play the game or switch networks every time your contract comes up for renewal.

So the answer to customer retention is go to a different network.

That’s how heroin dealers work, not businesses.

Hi @daxhughes16 sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the offers available. These do change on a regular basis, and we like to think you got a great deal when you first joined iD?

This is the case with most mobile networks, it is worth shopping around, but you can always contact our iD Sales Team on 0207 1391 397 who can discuss upgrade deals with you.
