why cant i upgrade to sim only on the iD website?

My iD contract is up and want a sim only deal but iD website want allow it??

Please note that with iD Mobile, you can upgrade to a SIM-only plan up to 24 days before your contract end date. Once you are within this window, the upgrade options will become available in your account.

I have only 10 days left and still can't access any sim free deals

I have accessed the iD website now and ordered a sim only plan. 

As I am already a iD customer I assume I retain my existing Sim card and number and don't need to change my direct debit?

In order to keep the same number, you would need to upgrade on that specific plan, I would like to have a look for you.
