I've got a sim only with ID so how do I keep my number if I change to a new plan

Best answer by Tyler

Hey there @Gazhig, if you upgrade, you’d keep your phone number with us.

If you purchase a completely new plan, then you’d receive a new phone number, and cannot transfer your number directly via PAC code to the new plan. You’d need to proceed with a triangle port, which we can explain how to do so if you wish to choose this route, where you port your number to another network, then back to us on the new plan.

Thanks,

Tyler

So you’re with iD already? If so make sure you’re singed in to your account.

Or are bringing your number with you from another provider?

If its the latter start off by asking your old provider for a PAC

Hi @Gazhig

Thanks for getting in touch.

Sorry, to clarify, would you be looking to upgrade your plan with us or take out a brand new plan you have seen online/in store?

If this is a new plan, we are not able to port numbers internally and a brand new number would be provided.

If you are upgrading or making changes to your current plan, you would retain your number.

thanks,

Nat

No I’m not saying that.

If you’re an existing customer and want to upgrade or change your plan then as long as you are signed into your account then you should be fine.

If you’re new to iD and want to bring an existing number with you you need a PAC from your old provider

If you’re an existing customer and see a better deal, possibly with a gift (ie Samsung Chromebook) then you may be inadvertently opening a 2nd account.
