When you sign up for a Pay Monthly Phone or SIM Only deal with us, we'll need to run a hard credit check as part of your application:

What is a credit check?

A credit check looks at your credit history, both past and present. It helps us see how you've handled bills in the past, confirm you are who you say you are, and check you'll be able to afford the monthly payments.

How does a credit check work?

  1. Enter your details at checkout.

When you check out, we’ll ask for some personal details, like your current address and employment status. This helps us verify everything with the credit reference agency.

  1. We’ll review your credit history.

Next, we’ll check your credit history. This gives us an overall credit score and details of how you’ve managed payments with other companies in the past.

  1. We’ll make a decision.

Our automated system looks at the information from the credit reference agency to make a decision. We aim to make decisions quickly, efficiently, and fairly.

Sometimes, an application needs a closer look. If this happens, we'll pass it to our specialist team to review. They'll make a fair decision based on your credit score and history.
