arrived in portugal - no data - did a reset network - turned off on phone data roaming is on in id account and iphone Still not working

iPhone XR - moved from Bt and when roaming g wld get a text msg saying now roaming in eu ..

nothing happened when we arrived in airport - had to use airport Wi-Fi

followed instructions - can’t see where to choose the network .uf that is what is missing

Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry your phone didn’t connect when you arrived in Portugal.

Good news: roaming in Portugal is included within your standard allowances, so you won’t pay extra to use your data, minutes and texts there.

To connect manually on your iPhone XR:

Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Data Options and make sure Data Roaming is switched on.
Go back to Mobile Service and open Network Selection.
Turn off Automatic and wait for the list of networks to load.
Choose MEO or NOS.

For peace of mind, you can also set your bill cap to £0. This stops any usage outside your plan from being charged, so you won’t be billed for anything beyond your allowances.

Thanks - yes I got it working - confusingly there are 2 sims - personal and primary - same number -one is off on mine - my husband has both on ? (Maybe an hangover from when we switched to ID.?)

it is after selecting the sim that is on there is a toggle for data roaming - which had been off ! So it worked with no other changes once this was ON !
