call charges when travelling

I’ve been charged a small sum because I have exceeded the number of minutes on my plan. As this is ‘unlimited’, I assume it is for calls made when abroad. Where can I find the number of minutes I am allowed for when calling in the EU?

Thank you for your post. I am sorry for the confusion around your charge.

You're right that "unlimited" refers to your UK allowance, when you're calling (or using data) in the EU, a separate roaming allowance applies, and charges can occur once that's used up.

Thanks Marquerita, but as far as I can make out, my overseas minutes are also unlimited so I don’t understand the charge. If I’m wrong, can you confirm how many minutes my plan permits in EU countries,in this case Cyprus?

I'm sorry for any confusion caused.

When you're roaming in Cyprus, you can use your inclusive minutes to call standard UK mobile and landline numbers, provided you still have minutes available on your plan.

However, your inclusive allowance doesn't cover every type of call. For example:

Calls to 0800 numbers aren't supported while roaming abroad.
Calls to premium or other non-standard numbers may be chargeable.
Calls to numbers outside the destinations covered by your roaming allowance may also be chargeable.

So, if you have unlimited minutes, there isn't a separate limited number of minutes specifically for Cyprus when calling eligible UK numbers. Your normal inclusive minutes apply.
