Can't forward a voice message while abroad

I'm trying to forward a saved voice message while I'm abroad in Spain.  I've tried entering the number as 44 7xxxxxxxxx and as 07xxxxxxxx but neither option worked.  I can't get to the + to do +44 so not sure what to try next.

It’s +44 or 0044 for UK numbers.
