clarification on roaming data usage

Hi,

I'm a little confused about the current roaming data allowance.

I joined iD Mobile after 21 June 2023, so I understand the usual fair usage limit while roaming is 30GB per month. However, your website currently states:

"From 1 October 2024 and until further notice, all customers can use their full UK data allowance in Roam Free destinations, at no extra cost."

Can you please confirm whether this means I can use my entire UK data allowance while roaming in Spain (Tenerife), rather than being restricted to 30GB?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mr Aherne,

Thanks for getting in touch.

You're correct that the standard roaming fair usage limit for customers who joined after 21 June 2023 is normally 30GB per billing month when roaming in Roam Free destinations.

However, until further notice, from 1 October 2024 and until further notice, customers can use their full UK data allowance in Roam Free destinations at no extra cost.

This means that if you're travelling to Spain (including Tenerife), you can currently use your full UK data allowance while roaming, rather than being restricted to 30GB.

As this is temporary, we'd recommend keeping an eye on communications from iD Mobile, as we'll let customers know if and when the promotion ends and the standard fair usage limit is reinstated.

Before travelling, we'd also recommend setting your bill cap to £0.00 to help prevent any unexpected charges should you accidentally connect to a non-included service or destination.

Regards,
