I purchased the £20 turkey data roaming plan but it isnt allowing me to use the data at all. Saying I have no Internet connection even though in app and also my data roaming is on.

Thanks for getting in touch, and I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble using your roaming add-on in Turkey.

 

If the add-on is showing as active in the app and data roaming is already switched on, please also make sure that:

  • Roaming is enabled both on the iD Mobile app and on your handset settings
  • Your Bill Cap is set above £0, as a £0 Bill Cap can sometimes prevent roaming services from connecting correctly

You can check and update this in the iD Mobile app by following these steps:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app
  2. Go to My Account
  3. Select Manage Plan
  4. Ensure Roaming is enabled
  5. Tap Bill Cap
  6. Ensure the Bill Cap is set above £0
  7. Save the changes and restart your handset

You’ll also need to ensure your phone is connected to one of our supported partner networks in Turkey, which are:

  • AVEA
  • Turkcell

To manually select a network on your handset:

iPhone

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Mobile Service / Cellular
  3. Tap Network Selection
  4. Turn off Automatic
  5. Wait for available networks to load
  6. Select AVEA or Turkcell

Android

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Connections / Mobile Networks
  3. Tap Network Operators
  4. Turn off Select Automatically
  5. Wait for the networks to appear
  6. Select AVEA or Turkcell

Please also ensure that Data Roaming is enabled in your handset settings.

 

Once connected, restart your handset and test the connection again.

I have already done all these things due to reading them on your helpful tips and none work. Again I am paying for something that I cannot use. I would like a refund please.

I had the exact same issue a could have weeks ago. I purchased a 10 day Turkey roaming add-on for £35. But I wasn’t able to use it despite trying all of the above. Told I could request a full refund when I got back to UK. I’ve tried, but I’ve had no luck so far. On my last attempt, I got disconnected from the Live Chat by a customer service representative.
