Do you need to enter +44 when calling UK from a free roam country as previous providers do not require

I am new to ID mobile and currently using my phone in a free roam country. With my old provider (who was Three) it was not necessary to put a +44 at the start of the number when phoning UK from abroad but with ID it appears you do ? Is this correct ?

Thank you for getting in touch with us, I can confirm that when abroad you would need to add the +44 instead of the 0 in order to make the call as you are abroad.
