Is my iPhone 16 dual eSIM compatible?  I have bought a different provider eSIM which try’s to install in eSIM 1 which I think is taken by ID Mobile. I just want to install the additional eSIM but not activate it until I travel. Thanks.

Hi @MN1 ,

Yes, the iPhone 16 supports dual eSIMs, so you can have your iD Mobile eSIM and an additional eSIM from another provider installed at the same time.

A couple of points to note:

-You don’t need to activate the second eSIM right away. it can remain dormant until you’re ready to use it while travelling.

-Your iD Mobile eSIM will stay active as your primary line unless you manually switch lines in your iPhone settings.

-

Make sure you’re adding the new eSIM to the secondary slot (eSIM 2) to avoid overriding your iD Mobile line.

Once you’re ready to activate the travel eSIM, you can simply turn it on in Settings > Mobile Network > eSIM.

This setup will allow you to keep your iD Mobile number active while using the second eSIM abroad.
