eu data remaining/used

When I log into the app all i see is total (uk) data remaining . This is no indication of how much from the 30g eu data allowance I have remaining. How can i know when I am close to running out/risking extra charges when in EU?

Thanks for getting in touch, and I’m sorry for the confusion around tracking your EU roaming allowance within the app.

 

At the moment, the iD Mobile app does not separately display or track EU roaming usage against a specific EU data allowance, so there currently isn’t a way to monitor this directly through the app.

 

However, until further notice, the EU roaming limit has been updated, meaning you can now use your normal UK data allowance while roaming in eligible EU destinations.

 

For example, if your plan includes 100GB of data and you still have 80GB remaining in your monthly allowance, you would be able to use that remaining 80GB whilst roaming in the EU without needing to track against a separate 30GB limit.

 

As always, we’d still recommend keeping an eye on your overall remaining data allowance within the app to help avoid any unexpected out-of-plan usage.

I appreciate your precise answer to @Rowleygreen about EU roaming however when I check my account it tells me that I’m am restricted to the usual fair usage limit of 30GB. I have an unlimited data plan and am currently in Germany for 4 weeks and not using data on my phone except when absolutely necessary and am buying data locally to use in the wi-fi of our motorhome. Which source of information is correct, the app or this chat?

At present, EU roaming data is limited to your usual allowance until further notice. However, based on what you're seeing in the app, the 30GB fair usage limit showing does raise some questions.

 

As we can't verify the specific roaming settings or allowances on your account from here, we'd recommend getting in touch with our Live Chat team so they can check exactly what allowance applies to your plan and confirm whether the information being displayed is correct.

 

Given that you're currently in Germany and relying on this information while travelling, it's definitely worth having this verified directly on the account to avoid any surprises.
