I'm going to the Netherlands, which is listed in the 50 free destinations, but different networks are listed. How do I use a different network when I'm there?

Hi @Tracy Ann Roast

Thank you for reaching out. Netherlands is included in our free roaming destinations, which means you can use your monthly data allowance and add-ons at no extra cost while abroad, up to the 30GB fair usage limit.

To avoid any unexpected out-of-plan charges while roaming, we recommend setting your bill cap to £0 before you travel.

You can do this in the iD Mobile app by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the iD Mobile app.
  2. Go to “My Services”.
  3. Select “Bill Cap”.
  4. Change the bill cap amount to £0.
  5. Save the changes.

You’ll also need to connect to one of our partner networks in the Netherlands, which are KPN or T-Mobile.

Your phone should normally connect automatically when you arrive. However, if it does not, you can manually select a network by:

  1. Going to your phone Settings.
  2. Selecting Mobile Networks or Network Operators.
  3. Turning off “Automatic Network Selection”.
  4. Choosing either KPN or T-Mobile from the available networks.

Once connected, you should be able to use your allowances as normal within our roaming policy.
