Hi, I manage my son's SIM. He has a 50 GB data and he had a lot of data rolled over when we came to France. Does the additional data allow him more than 30 GB per calendar month? How fo we know when he is nearing the cap?

Hi @Northernjac

Thank you for reaching out, and I'd be happy to clarify how the data allowance and rollover work while your son is in France.

If his plan includes 50GB of monthly data, any eligible rollover data is additional to his regular allowance and can be used subject to the terms of the plan. However, there may be a separate roaming allowance or fair-use limit that applies when using data abroad, so having a large amount of rolled-over UK data does not necessarily mean all of it can be used while roaming.

The iD Mobile app should show the relevant data usage and available allowance, and you'll also receive notifications when applicable allowances are being used or approaching their limits.

To prevent any unexpected out-of-plan charges, you can also set the Bill Cap to £0. To do this:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app and sign in.
  2. Select the relevant mobile number.
  3. Go to Manage or Bill Cap.
  4. Select £0 as the Bill Cap.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the change.
