Question

I am not receiving an otp sms from the Indian Bank, I'm in the UK.

The Indian Bank IT team have provided me a screenshot from their end which says the sms has been delivered to Vodafone but I do not receive it on my mobile number. Senders number is +91 80 4511 5000 - is it possible that it is being “blocked” by some filter within ID/Vodafone systems?

I confirm I have sufficient spend cap, premium services and international roaming enabled on my account.

I am able to receive sms from other Indian banks.

    Hi @mkc

It’s being sent to Vodafone or it’s being sent to Three/iD Mobile?

Whilst on iD Mobile, have you been able to receive anything from that number?

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes, the Bank has shared a screenshopt from their provider which shows my mobile number and state message delivered to Vodafone UK.

I have previously received SMS from that number a few months ago but nothing now.

    Hi @mkc

Thank you for your message. I’m sorry to hear that you’re unable to receive texts from your bank in India.

Could you please check if your bill cap is set above £0? To receive international texts, you'll need to have a higher bill cap in place.

Just to clarify, there are no filters on iD Mobile that would block incoming texts. However, if the local signal is picked up through Vodafone, this could affect message delivery. I’d recommend trying the steps below, based on your device, to manually select the iD Mobile network and refresh the connection.

    For Apple devices:

    Go to Settings

    Tap Mobile Service

    Tap Network Selection

    Toggle Automatic off

Select iD Mobile from the available networks

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen

Wait a few minutes and try using the services again

    For Android devices:

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel

    Tap the Settings icon

    Go to Connections

    Select Mobile Networks

    Turn off Select Automatically

Choose iD Mobile from the list

The bank in India seem confused, @mkc

One assumes you are using an iD SIM on the iD network, so not sure why their screenshot show the SMS being sent to Vodafone - what does the bank in India say about this?

I have reverted to the Bank for clarification. Will update in due course.

Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
