I’m struggling to roam in Italy

Help!

Im so frustrated having just returned from a week in Spain where I couldn’t get roaming data (my phone connected to Movistar 3G but I could never connect. When I returned home I saw there’s a problem with that network.

Now I’m in Italy and connecting to WINDTRE in Rome but still no roaming data.

I’m using an iPhone, roaming is switched on there and on my id account. I’ve turned my phone off and back on again. I’m well within fair usage.

I was in Macedonia in April, Menorca and Sardinia in May, all with no problems data roaming.

Any suggestions welcome.

Hi @Bobobo

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues when roaming.

Are you able to manually search for a network via the handset settings?

Are there alternative options showing available? If so, can you please select one of the alternatives to see if that works?

Thanks,

I tried all the options: Vodafone, Iliad, itim

None of them work- all show E

Windtre shows 3G but doesn’t connect for data (although I can phone).

Any other fixes?

Hi @Bobobo

Could you maybe try connecting to 3 ITA or Wind ?

There’s no option for 3 ITA

Windtre connects (and I can call), it shows 3G on my phone, but I get ‘could not connect to mobile data network- connect to WiFi’ message when I try to use mobile data.

Hi @Bobobo

I am sorry that it is still not working. Could you please try resetting your network settings and then the APN settings? You can just type the make and model of your device and then “network reset settings”/ “APN settings ID mobile”.

This is stupid. I’m leaving id - I don’t think it’s my job to fix what isn’t working

There’s obviously problems with connecting to mobile networks overseas by looking at the other threads. I need a network that will be more pro-active.
