illegal roaming charges

I am seeing my bill is high due to roaming. I do not know why I was charged for roaming. I rejected the offer when I was prompted. And I equally had a local line. So where did this come from?

I am not going to pay this

    Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear about the unexpected roaming charge. I completely understand why you’d be concerned, especially as you feel you didn’t use roaming.
     

    Why this may have happened:

    Roaming charges can sometimes occur even if you didn’t actively use your UK SIM for data, calls, or texts, for example if:
    • The SIM briefly connected to a foreign network in the background
    • Calls or SMS were attempted on the UK SIM (even missed calls/voicemail checks)
    • Data roaming was not fully blocked at network level

    Even if you were using a local SIM, your iD SIM can still register on a network unless it is fully restricted.
