My data is not working in Frankfurt

I’m sorry to hear your data isn’t working while you’re in Frankfurt I appreciate how inconvenient that must be.

 

To get this working, please check the following:

📶 1. Make sure roaming is enabled

Before anything else, ensure data roaming is switched ON:

  • iPhone: Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Options → Data Roaming → ON
  • Android: Settings → Connections / Network & Internet → Mobile Networks → Data Roaming → ON

Also ensure roaming is enabled in your iD Mobile account settings via the app.

 

📱 2. Check roaming is active in the iD Mobile app

  1. Open the iD Mobile app and log in
  2. Go to Settings / Plan settings
  3. Ensure Roaming is activated for your line
  4. If it’s off, switch it on and restart your phone

🌍 3. Manually select the correct network in Germany

In Frankfurt, you should connect to one of the supported networks:

  • Telekom (formerly T-Mobile)
  • O₂ (Telefónica Germany)

To do this:

  • Go to Mobile Networks → Network Selection → Turn OFF automatic
  • Manually choose Telekom or O₂

 

💰 4. Set your Bill Cap to £0 (important)

This helps prevent out-of-plan charges:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app
  2. Go to Account / Bill settings
  3. Select Bill Cap
  4. Set the limit to £0
  5. Save changes

If after checking all of the above your data still isn’t working, please restart your device or toggle airplane mode on and off.
