no connectivity again!!!

Once again I am abroad and I am unable to use my phone or receive calls

I am in France!

I have a plan that includes roaming in 50 countries

I have a Google pixel 9

Any ideas why this phone doesn't work abroad?

Thanks for getting in touch I’m sorry you’re having trouble while abroad, especially in France. Let’s get this sorted for you 👍
 

Since you’re on a plan that includes roaming in 50 destinations, your Google Pixel 9 should work fine in France, so this is usually down to a few settings.
 

1. Check Roaming is Enabled (App + Handset)

In the iD Mobile app:

  1. Log into the iD Mobile app
  2. Go to My Services
  3. Make sure Roaming is switched ON

On your phone:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Network & Internet
  3. Tap SIMs (or Mobile Network)
  4. Turn Roaming ON

2. Check Your Bill Cap (Must NOT be £0)

If your Bill Cap is set to £0, roaming services will be blocked.

To check/change it:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app
  2. Go to Billing
  3. Select Bill Cap
  4. Increase it above £0 (e.g. £5 or £10)

3. Manually Connect to a Network in France

Sometimes your phone won’t automatically connect to a supported network, so you can manually select one.

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Network & Internet
  3. Tap SIMs
  4. Tap Mobile Network
  5. Select Network Operators
  6. Turn OFF Automatically select network
  7. Wait for the list to load
  8. Choose one of the following networks:
  • Orange
  • Free Mobile
  • BYTEL (Bouygues Telecom)
  • BOUYG TEL

Try each one if needed until you get signal.


4. Quick Extra Checks
- Restart your phone after making changes
 - Make sure Airplane mode is OFF
 - Check you have signal bars after selecting a network
 - Try sending a text or making a call

All of the above have been done

My phone now says connected to BYTEL, Still unable to use the phone when out and about hence this late reply

I think ID mobile are blocking international calls somehow?

How does anyone contact ID mobile?   You've not told me that??

I dont want to ring an international number.  I am in Paris and would like to be able to connect to 4 or 5G, access the internet if required when no wifi available and also call family in the UK and have family ring me and be able to receive a call????

 

I am connected to BYTEL but no access at all!!!

Not too much to ask when I am paying for this access.  

I believe ID Mobile are restricting my use
