No upgrade available on app and data is over cap

I am well over my data this month despite not understanding how I could have used that much, I want to get an unlimited data plan upgrade but it seems I am unable to. Why is this the case? I live in Amsterdam but was assured I would have unlimited roaming there, is this not true?

Just to clarify a couple of points:

If you're unable to see an unlimited data upgrade, this is usually based on upgrade eligibility and what plans are currently available on your account, rather than an issue with roaming or usage itself. Regarding roaming in Amsterdam, this is included in iD Mobile’s Roam Free destinations, however “unlimited” usage abroad is still subject to a fair usage policy. This means: 

  • You can use your UK allowance while roaming
  • But there may be a roaming fair usage limit applied (for example, high data usage over extended periods abroad)
  • This is in place to ensure fair access to network services for all customers

 

If you’ve used more data than expected, you can check usage breakdowns in the iD Mobile app to see which services have consumed data.

 

If you'd like, the Sales team can also look at whether a higher data or unlimited plan is available for your account.
