pay as you go data add on?

I have 1GB data on my pay as you go sim (never use it, always on wifi or use my main sim). I’m about to go to the EU and ID included roaming - can I top this data up or am I locked in to that for 30 days? Seems wild that I can’t just add on or “upgrade” my plan for the remainder of month/start a new month.
