Question

Remaining roaming data

How can I see how much of the 30GB monthly roaming limit I have used? Does this 30GB roll over to the next month if unused like UK data does?

    Hi @Kgjfnt,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Unfortunately, there isn’t currently a separate tracker showing exactly how much of your 30GB Inclusive Roaming limit you’ve used.

You can, however, check your overall data usage and remaining allowance in the iD Mobile app:

    1. Open the iD Mobile app and log in.
    2. Go to the Home screen.
    3. Check your remaining data allowance.
    4. You can compare this against the amount you had available when you started roaming to get an idea of how much you’ve used while abroad.

Your handset may also provide an estimate of mobile data usage within its settings, although this may not match your iD Mobile billing cycle exactly.

The 30GB roaming limit does not roll over. The roaming limit resets with your next monthly billing cycle. Any Data Rollover on your plan doesn’t increase the 30GB Inclusive Roaming limit.

Thanks. On IDmobile chat I was assured that

    1. roaming data DOES roll over,

    1. that I have used 12GB
    2. And that I had 48GB left (30 x 2, then minus 12).

I thought “chat” would be definitive, correct information from the company itself, and that the “community” would be random people’s opinions. So I am finding this whole episode of being given incorrect and contradictory information very unsatisfactory. To say the least.
And why oh why can’t I just see what roaming I have used? IDmobile are definitely keeping track. And it’s good to share.

    Hi @Kgjfnt.

Thank you for the update. I'm really sorry for the frustration this has caused, and I completely understand why being told one thing on chat and then finding different information elsewhere is not the standard of service we want to give you.

I want to clarify the roaming allowance clearly, so there's no more confusion:

The 30GB Inclusive Roaming limit does not roll over. It resets with each new monthly billing cycle.

Any Data Rollover on your plan applies to your regular monthly data allowance only, it does not add to or extend the 30GB roaming limit. These are two separate allowances.

Unfortunately, there isn't currently a separate tracker that shows exactly how much of your 30GB roaming allowance you've used.

I'm sorry that you were given incorrect information earlier, that shouldn't have happened, and I understand why it's left you feeling let down

    Thanks,

Do I get a warning as I approach my 30GB limit?

    Hi @Kgjfnt.

Thank you for your question. Yes, iD Mobile normally sends SMS alerts when you reach 80% and 100% of your 30GB roaming cap, so you'll get a warning as you approach your limit.

    Thanks,
