Question

Roamimg in Turkey, ID mobile app not working

I’m going to Turkey tomorrow. Wasn’t aware that it’s not included in the usual roaming deal, and so now scrapping around trying to sort it!

Reading that I need to log into the ID mobile app to turn on roaming and also it’s being suggested that I add a cap to avoid high charges. However, the app isn’t working at the moment (as per the service message at the top of the page), and so how do I do this?

Also, if I purchase the roaming now, does it start straight away or just when I turn the phone on in Turkey?

Just log in to your account using a web browser via the idmobile.co.uk website.

Thanks. I’ve managed to enable data roaming on the website but can’t see where to add a bill cap on there?

Bills > Manage bill cap

However, be warned that iD Mobile have ridiculously low credit limits making them almost useless for chargeable roaming.

Hi @77timd,

We do see that @WelshPaul has managed to assist you, however if you do have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We’re happy to help.

As for your bill cap, to change your bill cap with iD Mobile, log in to the iD Mobile app or your online account at my.idmobile.co.uk. Navigate to the "Bills" section, select "Manage bill cap," adjust the slider or enter a new amount (up to £75), and confirm the changes.

The amount that you can raise it to is based on your accounts credit strength, we do usually advise getting a local SIM as this is a cheaper alternative.

Regards,

@77timd -

Have you got “Show Borders” enabled? If so, we’re aware this is causing issues which we and Apple are working to fix. You can turn off “Show Borders” by following these quick steps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Accessibility.
  3. Tap Display & Text Size.
  4. Turn the Show Borders toggle to OFF.

Also, we do offer great value Roam Beyond Add-Ons for Turkey. Find out more here:

Thanks.
