Question

Roaming charge despite esim in Morocco

Hi. I recently had 5 days in Morocco. When I arrived I bought an eSIM at the airport. The lady removed my sim and replaced with an Orange sim. I’ve just had my bill from id and it includes £22 in roaming charges. Is that right?

    Hi @Scottyboy11,

If your iD Mobile SIM was still active in your phone and your bill cap was enabled, it's possible to incur roaming charges even if you purchased a local SIM/eSIM. Calls, texts, voicemail activity, or data usage can still be linked to your iD Mobile SIM if it remains active on the device.

To help prevent this in future, we'd recommend setting your bill cap to £0.00 before travelling, as this prevents chargeable out-of-plan usage from being incurred on your iD Mobile account.

You may also want to review your itemised bill in the iD Mobile app or online account to see exactly what the £22 charge relates to.
