Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry for any confusion regarding using your phone while you're onboard the ship. We understand why you'd want to make sure you don't incur any unexpected roaming charges.

If you're using the ship's Wi-Fi, we'd recommend connecting to the Wi-Fi and keeping Mobile Data switched off. To make sure your iD Mobile service doesn't connect to a mobile network while you're onboard, the safest option when you're not using your phone for calls or texts is to switch on Airplane Mode and then manually turn Wi-Fi back on so you can continue using the ship's Wi-Fi.

We'd also strongly recommend setting your Bill Cap to £0 before travelling. This will help prevent chargeable out-of-plan roaming usage if your phone connects to a chargeable network.

Roaming charges can occur when your phone connects to a chargeable mobile network. This can happen when you're at the port or boarding the ship, before you have switched to Airplane Mode, or if Airplane Mode is switched off while you're onboard.
