roaming in USA

Hi I’m visiting the US from the UK so I bought a 10 day roaming package.  I am mainly issuing WiFi but using roaming for directions etc. I have just had a text that I am now using chargeable minutes but my plan says I have data left. I don’t understand can anyone explain please? Do I need to buy another package?? Thanks

    Hi @AnnieSug

I’m really sorry for the confusion. I understand why that message would be worrying while you’re abroad.

Your roaming data add-on covers data only, so the “chargeable minutes” alert usually means a call-type activity has been triggered (e.g. voicemail or a brief call connection).

    Please try these steps:

    • Check you haven’t made/received any calls or voicemail calls
    • Turn Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds, then OFF
    • Ensure you’re using WiFi for calls (WhatsApp/FaceTime/iMessage)
    • Check call forwarding/voicemail hasn’t been accessed
    • Review usage in the iD Mobile app for what triggered the alert
