still unable to receive sms from abroad after switching to my okd phone number

Hi,

I recently (last week) switched to my old number from my previous provider. The transfer was laborious and my old provider switched off and the new provider transferred the number a good 8 hours later. Also, the new number was unable to send and receive sms and iMessages and FaceTime did not work for about 3 days after the transfer. However, over a week later and even after having changed from eSIM to a replacement SIM card, I am unable to receive international sms (I can send them though) which is really serious as I cannot verify my international id virtual card without it. Can anyone suggest what I could do to be able to get international sms again?

Hi @cosnick365 Please accept my sincere apologies for the difficulty you have been facing since switching your number. The delays during the number transfer and the continued issues with SMS, iMessage, and FaceTime are understandably frustrating and I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, especially with the impact on receiving important international verification messages.

To help troubleshoot your device for those international messages please try the following prompts.

For iPhone:

‘Go to Settings.
 Tap Phone.
 Tap My Number.
Use the delete button to remove the old number.
Use the keypad to enter the new number.
 Tap Save.
 1. Go to Settings
 2. Messages
 3. Turn off iMessage.
 4. Go to General
 5. Reset
 6. Reset Network Settings.
 7. Once the iPhone is open.
 8. Go to Settings
 9. Messages Turn ON iMessage.
10.This will recognize the new sim and have it verified.

For an Android:

Open Settings and then tap General management. Tap Reset, and then tap Reset network settings.

If this does not work please send us a private message via the following link; https://community.idmobile.co.uk/inbox/overview and we’d be happy to assist you further.

Hi,

I have already done that. SIM card is recognised and so is iMessage and FaceTime. Only unable to receive sms from abroad. I can send them but not receive them
