You cannot change the name of the account holder even if the account holder agrees. You will need to obtain a PAC and port out the number to another network if you want to keep the number under your name. To get a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) to keep your mobile number when switching providers in the UK, text PAC to 65075 from the phone you want to keep; it's free, usually arrives within a minute (or up to two hours/days depending on request method), and is valid for 30 days, letting you give it to your new network to transfer your number.

Hi @Amy Parker

Thanks for your message. I’m really sorry, I know this isn’t ideal while you’re traveling, but because the account is currently under your ex-partner’s name, it’s not possible to move the plan or SIM into your name until the account holder authorizes the change.

Hi @Amy Parker ,

I’m really sorry for any confusion earlier. What I meant is that any changes or authorizations on the account must be done by the account holder — in this case, your ex-partner. We aren’t able to make changes to the account.
an transfer it to a new plan, You can request a PAC by texting PAC to 65075 from the phone number you want to keep. It’s free and usually arrives within a minute (sometimes up to a few hours) and is valid for 30 days.
