I’ve recently returned from USA, and whilst out there couldn’t receive any calls to my UK number. When someone tried to call, they would get the message “Unable to connect your call”. Fortunately I had an Airalo data sim, so could still use imessage etc.
Went into the Apple store and they checked my phone settings and said everything looked fine, but couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t work.
Has anyone else had this issue? How do I resolve when going back?

The USA is not included in our Roam Free destinations, so you won’t be able to use your UK plan for calls, texts or data there unless roaming has been enabled with chargeable usage.
In order to make or receive calls while in the US, you would need to ensure your bill cap is increased above £0.00, as usage is chargeable in that destination. Please also note that our data add-ons (including Roam Beyond) do not include the USA.
We understand this can be frustrating, especially if everything on your device is working correctly, but roaming availability is dependent on the country and local network agreements.
If you have any future travel plans, we’d recommend checking roaming charges and coverage before you go to avoid any disruption.
