Unable to Use ID Sim in Vietnam

Hi,

I am unable to receive SMS messages in Vietnam as my ID mobile sim card will not connect to any of the local mobile networks in Vietnam. I tried the automatic and manual selection method, and it shows all local networks as forbidden.

This is only a recent problem and searching through the community it appears that I am not the only person this is happening to,

Please help as this is a big problem for banking etc when I cannot receive OTPs etc.

Hi @pauldeezer ,

Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry your SIM isn’t connecting to local networks in Vietnam. I understand how important this is for receiving OTPs.

Please try the following:

-Ensure roaming is enabled on your phone.

-Restart your phone.

-Reset network settings.

-Try manual network selection again.

If it still shows networks as forbidden, please let us know so we can check your account and escalate to our technical team.

HI, I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved and have heard nothing back from you. For your information, I am in Thailand now and the ID chip registers with the local networks here without a problem, so there is obviously an issue with ID mobile and the Vietnamese carriers. I am returning to Vietnam in a couple of days so I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this.

Hi @pauldeezer

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with roaming in Vietnam.

When you arrive, please make sure your phone is connected to one of our supported partner networks there, Viettel or Vietnamobile. Selecting one of these networks manually usually helps get services working properly.

Unfortunately, while you’re not yet in Vietnam, we’re unable to fully diagnose the issue from our side. Once you arrive, if the problem continues, please get in touch with us via Live Chat and the team will be able to run through some troubleshooting with you straight away.

I hope everything works smoothly for you when you arrive, and safe travels.

Regards,
