Unable to use my phone in Singapore

I have recently switched from Vodafone UK to Mobile and I have had no success in getting my phone to Make or receive calls.

I’m currently based in Singapore for the next few months and I am unable to use the phone as intended, can you please help me as soon as possible?

Did you activate your SIM first in UK??

Can’t be done overseas.

Singapore is not included as part of iD Mobile’s standard roaming destinations, so this would explain why you’re unable to make or receive calls as expected.

 

If you are trying to use your iD Mobile service while abroad, you would need to either:

  • Ensure your bill cap is set to allow chargeable usage, or
  • Purchase a suitable roaming add-on (please note roaming add-ons provide data usage only, not calls or texts in all destinations)

 

If you are using a data roaming add-on, please also ensure you are connected to one of the approved local networks in Singapore:

  • Singtel
  • StarHub
  • M1

We’d recommend manually selecting each of these networks in your phone settings, then restarting your device and testing again.

 

Additionally, while the add-on is suitable for things like maps or browsing, they don’t include calls or texts. Any standard calls or SMS will be charged separately at out-of-plan rates, which could become quite expensive based on the timeframe that you have provided, as the longest is only valid up to 10 days.

 

How the Roam Beyond add-ons work:

  • You can purchase a data-only bundle via the iD Mobile app or your online account.
  • The add-on starts immediately upon purchase and lasts for a fixed duration.
  • Once it expires, you’ll need to buy another add-on or you’ll be charged standard roaming rates (if your bill cap allows this).
  • Your regular UK allowance (minutes and texts) is not included while in Singapore.

 

How to check if you have a bill cap in place:

  • To view or change your bill cap, log in to the iD Mobile app or your online account, go to the Bills section, and select Manage bill cap.
  • You can adjust this using the slider or by entering an amount (between £0 and up to £75.00, depending on your account type).
